About Our Mental Health and Substance Abuse Facilities

Outpatient Clinic

The Friendship House Counseling Clinic was launched in July of 2017 in response to the growing need for high-quality bilingual services within our diverse community of Hall County and across the state of Nebraska. Friendship House employs two counselors fluent in Spanish, allowing for a better use of time and resources and resulting in better outcomes for the people we are privileged to serve. Specializing in both substance abuse and mental health evaluations and counseling, our therapists are able to address a wide array of behavioral health concerns, including:
  • Drug & Alcohol Use
  • Traumatic Life Events
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Self-Harm & Suicidal Thoughts
  • Parenting Issues
  • Marriage & Family Counseling
  • Crisis Management
  • Veteran’s Issues
  • Sex Offender evaluation & treatment (beginning November 2017)
In an effort to remain accessible to all individuals, we accept all major forms of insurance and Medicaid, as well as offer a sliding fee scale based on income for uninsured households.

Halfway House

Mental Health Awareness — Mental Health Clinic in Grand Island, NE
The mission of the Friendship House Halfway House is to provide a therapeutic living environment for adult men recovering from substance abuse to aid in the transition to the next phase of their recovery. Research indicates that in order for long-term gains to be sustained, individuals often need a minimum of 90-120 days with intense supports to prevent them from falling back into old patterns of behavior. To that end, the Friendship House has dedicated over 54 years to providing housing and programming specifically designed to teach our men how to effectively live a productive life free from the negative influence of drugs and alcohol. The Friendship House is licensed as a Substance Abuse Treatment Provider by the State of Nebraska through Department of Health and Human Services Division of Behavioral Health. The Friendship House received our fourth 3-year CARF accreditation in 2020, certifying our commitment to providing quality services.
